There’s a lot of talk about inequality between men and women, but one area in particular where women are leading in record numbers: heart disease. It’s the No. 1 killer of women and is more deadly than all forms of cancer. Heart disease in women requires more attention, more research and swifter action. To dispel the myths and raise awareness of heart disease & stroke as the number one killer of women, the American Heart Association created Go Red For Women, a passionate, emotional, social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health.
The Go Red For Women Luncheon is an event to help the American Heart Association celebrate the vitality and energy of women! It is a fun and educational event. We serve a heart-healthy, delicious lunch, women from the Missoula area mingle; learn about the number one threat to women’s health, while learning how to keep this silent epidemic at bay at one of the education breakout sessions that are offered in the morning. There will be a silent auction for the attendees to browse and place bids prior to the beginning of the luncheon featuring unique items. Proceeds will go to fund critical life-saving research and essential educational programs for women.
